more-on-broncos-vs-lions

Wow, I am really excited about the game this week and that scares me. I have been a Lions fan my whole life (well over 40 years) and I don’t know if I have been this excited about a game in a long time. They really have a chance to put a stamp on this season with this game. The Broncos, while at 3 - 4, were expected to be a playoff contender this year and still may have a chance at a spot.

The easy part of the schedule is over. Now, we move to the meat. This game and the one next week against Arizona (I just might have to go see the game) will be a springboard for the rest of the season and any playoff aspirations the team may have. I expect the Lions to come out strong this week. Unfortunately, I suspect they will struggle in the red zone otherwise, they could score a ton of points. As detailed in my previous post, I see a 10 point victory and will be glued to the TV set for the game.

There has been some talk lately about whether Bailey should get more or less playing time. While I agree Boss has struggled this year, I would give him plenty of time this week. This will be his first matchup since street games against his brother Champ Bailey. Champ has certainly garnered more accolades this far in their careers than Boss. I expect Boss is gonna want to put on a show and I would attempt to ride that emotion. I guess their parents knew what they were doing when they named their kids.

On the injury side, Marinelli pretty much confirmed that Kalimba Edwards is gonna sit. He wants him to get completely healthy before he brings him back. I suspect the exceptional play of Dewayne White makes that decision a bit easier. Coach Rod certainly knew what he was doing in bringing White to the Lions this off season.

The Lions got a bit of championship taste this week as the PGA Wanamaker Trophy has been at Ford Field and will be displayed during the first quarter this week. That trophy is awarded to the winner of the PGA Championship. That PGA event will be held at Oakland Hills Country Club near Detroit next year.

This is scary, but I feel pretty confident heading into this week!
